Principal's Message

Welcome to Lowell Elementary School!

If you are new to Lowell Elementary, I would like to welcome you to a great school and an outstanding community. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We try to use our school web page for almost all of our communication, so please take some time to view it at lowell.aps.edu Please add this to your bookmark.  You can also follow us on social media: Our Twitter handle @Lowell_ES and on INstaGram lowell_es_unicorns for updated information and school highlights.

We are committed to improvement and making Lowell Elementary a successful place to learn. This past year Lowell Elementary worked hard to improve our NMPED school rating and received a C letter grade rating from the NMPED.  We are enthusiastic that all of our hard work will continue to build on our academic success. As parents and family members, your continued interest and support is necessary for this to happen. It truly takes a village to foster and continue growth for our children.

As we begin our second semester of the school year, I’d like to request your cooperation in making our transition before and after the school day a safe one. We need your help by not parking or stopping on Sunshine Terrace in front of the school to drop off or pick up your student. The area is congested and I request that you drive to the west side of our campus to pick up and drop off your child.

We are averaging a little over 10 minutes from the 3:00/1:30 dismissal bell to the last car and bus leaving campus. There are almost 300 students who are entering or exiting in several different formats. Bikes, busses, walking and parent pick-up or drop off are all occurring during these times, so please be patient.

Our staff is very excited to be working with your children, and I know your children are going to be very safe and happy learning. I am looking forward to another successful semester of partnerships!

Sincerely

Danielle Calvillo
